Chris Frey, MSW, ACSW, LCSW; psychotherapist, author and teacher is in private practice at Frey and Tobin Counseling Associates in St. Louis, MO. He provides individual, couples and group therapy, along with workshop and training experiences. For several decades, Chris has been a leading voice in men's issues, addiction recovery, relationships and sexuality. His work in collaborative cancer care, healthy masculinity, relationships and sexuality have kept him on the front lines of innovation in emotional healing work. Chris combines experiential, cognitive, emotionally focused and spiritual approaches to counseling that match the strategies for recovery with the unique needs of each client.

Chris is the author of three books; the 2011 I'm Sorry, It's Cancer: A Handbook of Help and Hope for Survivors and Caregivers, Men at Work: An Action Guide to Masculine Healing, and Double Jeopardy: Treating Male Juvenile Sex Offenders/Substance Abusers. He is the co-author of FatherTime: Stories on the Heart and Soul of Fathering with Chris Scribner, PhD. His articles have been published in both professional and popular journals, including Coping with Cancer Magazine, Social Work, GP Solo, The Missouri Bar Journal, and Everyman. He was the recipient of an Armour Foundation sabbatical, in 2009, which assists in funding creative works.

For many years Chris has been a popular local workshop leader and nationally recognized speaker on topics as diverse as masculinity, sexual and chemical addictions, healthy sexuality and healthy relationships. He is a past presenter at the Chicago Men's Conference, the National Conference on Sexual Addiction and Compulsivity, the Heartland Men's Conference and the Missouri Lawyer's Assistance Conference. He is a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers and the Society for the Advancement of Sexual Health.

Most important, Chris is a father and a husband. In his spare time his is both a passionate and mediocre guitarist.
